It was bad but it could've been worse.

Our truck broke down 3 1/2 hours from home on a major highway pulling our empty horse trailer. (no horses, thank goodness) We had to unhook the trailer & LEAVE it there as our truck got towed farther from home.
The state police said they'd keep an eye on our trailer.
Family was finally contacted & came to rescue us. We all got home quite late.
We finally found a wonderful friend with a gooseneck hitch who loaned us his truck to retrieve our poor abandoned trailer. After work, my husband, myself & another wonderful friend spent about 8 hours on the highway bringing the trailer home.
Not enough room here for all the details, but I will tell you ...
the anxiety of leaving my trailer on the side of the road was just unbearable for me.
I'm sure many can understand when I say... that trailer is my life! Without it I can't go camping or riding... & I surely won't be able to afford to replace it.
It cost us $75.00 to get our truck towed 11 miles farther from home! It cost gas $$ for family to come rescue us. It cost over $200.00 in fuel to go back & rescue our trailer. It will cost about the same amount to go back to get our truck once it's finally fixed.
Hmmmm...
I think it's time to look at USRider Equestrian Motor Plan in the right hand column of this page!
